At Herdade da Maroteira, superior quality grapes are used for the production of Herdade da Maroteira wine.
Very selective manual harvest at night, in 20 kg boxes.
Atypical vinification for the Alentejo. Natural and spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentations; “Cuvaison” of more than 20 days.
The Senhor Doutor range, developed at Herdade da Maroteira but with grapes from Évoramonte, results in a small selection of “author wines”. Wines with a very specific character, out of the box that put both our winegrower – Philip Mollet – and our consultant winemaker – António Maçanita – to the test.
Touriga Nacional (100%), aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels, is robust and structured. A Wine of undeniable complexity, with strong aromas of bergamot, liquorice and discreet tones of leather. A wine that we think matches the Casta Rainha de Portugal.
Contains sulfites.
